Top Ten (Seven, really) Character’s I’d Like to Be Best Friends With

TopTenTuesday

This week’s Top Ten Tuesday is a freebie and I’ve decided to do something fun,  Top Ten Character’s I’d Like to Be Best Friends With.

There are many characters that we love, but sometimes they wouldn’t exactly be BFF material for us. I thought deeply about this and this is who has made it on my I WANT THEM TO BE MY BFF list.

1. Sydney from Vampire Academy and  Bloodlines Series

She and I would definitely get along together. I’m also a fiercely loyal person and I like that characteristics in my to be bestie too. 😀

2. Adrian from Vampire Academy and  Bloodlines Series

Gosh, I want that hunk of a man as my best friend. At times I can be a little uptight and I know he would make any boring task into a fun one. Also fiercely loyal as well.

3. Rose from Vampire Academy Series

In the past I had a best friend that was a bit like Rose and we actually got along fine. We were a perfect friendship match. We were quite a team. Too bad we lost touch when I moved cities. This was back in the year 2000.

4. Eddie from Vampire Academy and  Bloodlines Series

Eddie is the type of guy friend I like to have as a best friend. He may not bear his soul, but he knows what’s important and is always there for you when you need him.

5. Savannah from Racing Savannah

Savannah and I are somewhat alike and I think those similarities would make us really good friends.

6. Mia from If I Stay Duology

Mia and I are so similar at times, it’s kinda freaky. But the differences we do have would make us really good friends. It also helps that I was the girl who at the age of 8 preferred the cello over any other instrument. I played it for many years until I wasn’t able to rent one from the school. Moving out of that district was the worst thing ever because it stunted my growth as a cello player. 😦

7. Sydney from Maybe Someday

Sydney and I would be GREAT friends. I just know it. I can’t even explain it. I just KNOW.

Who do you think would make a great BFF for you? Tell me! I’d like to know.

Top Five Favorite Classic Books

toptentuesday-1Thank you The Broke and The Bookish for creating this great meme!

Hey Hey Hey! I’m back! Sort of… Well I’m back as much as I can be back, but I’m here and that’s what counts (or at least that’s what I tell myself). This week we have Top Ten Five Favorite Classic Books and I wasn’t too sure I should do this, but I said why not!

51grMGCKivL._SY344_BO1,204,203,200_

1. To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee

I really hated being told what to read in school, but I did it anyways. One day, my freshman high school english teacher made us read this book and it was the first book of assigned reading I had ever enjoyed. I think it’s still my favorite modern classic to this day. I even bought my own personal copy.

wuthering-heights-by-emily-bronte

2. Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte

Yes, it’s dark and twisted. Yes, it’s a horrible example of what love and family is. The thing about this book though is that it’s addicting, it’s dark, and there is something there that makes you feel sympathy for the very twisted, selfish, and bitter characters. I think I also like it because it was the first old classic that I ever tackled on all my own when I was in high school. I was so proud of myself when I had finished it.

3. The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde

This classic play is my favorite play of all time. I laughed when I read it the first time around and I was more than happy to write an essay about it.

Black-Beauty-book-cover-black-beauty-27648296-360-475

4. Black Beauty by Anna Sewell

I read this in the 9th grade because I wanted to know what all the fuss was about. I actually really liked it. If I do remember correctly, it’s a sad book, but what counts is that I enjoyed it and have fond memories of it. On the list it goes.

51V4ZQ1uDdL._SY344_BO1,204,203,200_

5. Island of the Blue Dolphins by Scott O’Dell

In middle school and high school I was obsessed with dolphins. They were my favorite animal. If it had dolphins, I wanted it. I was browsing the library one day when I saw this book about dolphins and I snatched it before anyone else saw it and took it home. Over the next couple of days I was introduced to a type of writing I had never read before. When I try to remember this book, I remember parts of it in a foggy way. I just remember reading it and thinking to myself, “Wow, how can a book make me feel like I’m there with her, I can see the fog, and see the beach she sees.” Fourteen year old me thought it was crazy and cool. Island of the Blue Dolphins was the first classic I ever read.

What are some of your favorite classics?

Top Ten Books That Should Be In Your Beach Bag

toptentuesday-1

Thank you to The Brooke and The Bookish for creating this wonderful meme!

openroadsummer_hires_cover no quote.jpg

Open Road Summer is the perfect beach read because it has that wonderful summer feeling. This book will only enhance your beach experience.

81rCityicgL._SL1500_

You might start to see a trend, and that trend is that most of the books on my list are books you will experience happy gushy feelings over. Someday Maybe is not light, but it makes you feel all the feels. It’s sweet at times, it is heart-wrenching at other times. Overall, perfection.
11547291

When I go to the beach, I laze around for a while. I don’t automatically go in. I like to have an umbrella, break out the chips and drink, and read for a while first. This book is slow to start, but perfect for the beach because it will help you kill time in the morning before the beach scene intensifies. Or if you like to get in the water first, well then it’s the perfect book to kill time while you wait for everyone to leave at sundown.
16045296

This book makes me feel all the feels. Racing Savannah has a strong female character, a hot cowboy, and horse racing. It just makes me happy okay. READ IT!
FOL-new-cover-2012

Another book that makes you feel all the feels. This is one of my babies. I’ll cradle it and hold it. It’s the perfect companion at the beach.

Me-Before-You-book-cover-Jan-12-p122-1

This book might not be the best beach read because it will make you cry rivers, but I honestly think it would be a perfect beach read. A must in your beach bag.

947129_10151515679608051_436454321_n

The reason I am putting this in my beach bag/beach read is because… well Isaiah is hot. The beach is hot. If someone sees me blushing or getting a little hot no one will know it’s because of the book. They’ll just assume it’s because I’m at the beach. Muahahaha.6936382

Adorable. Cute. Loveable. Need I say more? No, I don’t think I do. READ IT!

amy-and-rogers-Epic-DetourThis is a book I think will be enchanted if read at the beach. It just has that summer lazy vibe. (Warning: lots and lots of feels and not all happy and gushy.)11071466This last book is a book that makes a lot of people cry. It’s bittersweet like chocolate. It’s good, we want it, but oh man does it hurt too. I’m all for reading emotional books at the beach because if you decide to face down, people will think you are taking a nap or tanning. No need to explain that you are a puddle of feels.

What are some of your must have in beach bag recommendations?

Top Ten Characters I’d NEVER Want To Trade Places With

toptentuesday-1Thank you The Broke and the Bookish for this wonderful Tuesday Meme

There were two topics today and I was going to do the first one, but then I thought about it and decided on the latter… Top Ten Characters I’d NEVER Want To Trade Places With. It seemed like something that would make me think and  more interesting to write about so let’s get on with this week’s topic!

Divergent hc c(2)The first two characters I would not trade places with are Tris & Four. I may love these characters so much and will root for them and just wish they were my friends, but at the end of the day I would not in a million years trade places with them. If any of you have read Allegiant or have been spoiled… You all know why.

13326831Cia. I really like her as a strong female character. She has morals. She has a heart. Not like some other characters in this book. Again, I would not in a million years trade places with her either. What she had to go through… nope. I wouldn’t be alive if I were her. The world she’s living in is so full of pain and deceit, I don’t want to go there.

CatchingFire_cvrKatniss & Peta. My babies. My loves. The OTP that wasn’t my OTP until Mockingjay. I love them, but nope. I would not trade places. Ever.

11547291Finally we get to a character that is in a contemporary novel. Jennifer. I really like Jennifer as a character, but the pain she had to go through in this book broke my heart in two. I love her, but I wouldn’t trade place with her… now Beth… that’s a different story. 🙂

5890_originalOh, Sydney. I’m sure several of you are shocked that I would not trade places with Sydney. Adrian Ivashkov is my #1 fictional boyfriend and the love of my fictional life, but I still would not trade places with her. If you’ve read the end of TFH, you all know why.

VA-MTI-cover-_-face-on1The last three characters in my list are Rose, Lissa, and Christian. Each character’s past is so sad and horrible. I don’t want their pasts to be my past. I don’t want to fight strigoi, have a family that voluntarily turned strigoi, or have the continuation of royal family on my shoulders. I honestly don’t want my life to be in constant danger and have all this emotional baggage to deal with. I love all three of them, but I’m sorry. I ain’t trading places with them any time soon. or Ever.

What are some characters you wouldn’t trade places with?

Top (Ten) Five Things On My Reading Wishlist

toptentuesday-1Thank you The Broke and the Bookish for this wonderful Tuesday Meme

Well hello guys. I haven’t done a Top Ten Tuesday in months. I feel a little rusty, but let’s tackle this! This week its all about the topics you wish authors would write about. Some of my answers may feel too broad, but bear with me.

1. Family

In YA, there are some really crappy family situations. In your honest opinion tell me which book comes to mind that has a good family dynamic, or even a so-so one? Any book? One comes to my mind, but apart from that one… I got nada.

2. Dystopian

You’re probably like, really Veronica… dystopian is the best you could come up with? Well… yes! When I think dystopian, I think Divergent, The Hunger Games, The Testing, Under the Never Sky. I want me some epic dystopian fighting for your life stories.

tumblr_m2ge1iHAkn1r3ad6w

3. Friendship

I want a YA book where we not only get good romance, but good friendship. I don’t want the friendship to take backstage, I want it in the front.

4. College Life

When I say college life, I do not mean New Adult. When I say college life I mean, freshman year of college. So many good stories can come out of that time period, but for some reason… they don’t exist. I really want a book where we can approach college life as a way of discovering yourself, not where a guy swoops in and saves you. College is so not like that. Trust me. I’ve been there and done that.

tumblr_m8wx8mEklx1rnudrx

5. Winter

We all know that there are a ton of stories set in the summer, but what about winter? I find it hard to find stories set in the winter time. Let It Snow is one of my favorite books because it is set in the winter. I love reading about snowy days (which as a California girl I have NEVER experienced), hot beverages, blankets, and coats. Really winter is a wonderful time for love stories. There is an excuse to cuddle up to someone without being obvious. Muahaha.

tumblr_lxr2sqS6iF1qjg2cf

What are some topics you want to be reading about?

Tell me! I want to know!
